Case Study

West Coast University

Digitizing Academic Operations for a Nursing University

Overview

West Coast University sought to modernize its administrative operations by replacing paper-based processes with a centralized digital platform. The objective was to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual work, and provide a structured workflow for approvals, documentation, and internal processes.

I joined the project through Macersoft and worked closely with the team to design and develop solutions that supported the university's digital transformation initiatives.

The Challenge

Many university processes were still dependent on manual paperwork and disconnected workflows.

Tasks such as:

  • Document creation
  • Approval workflows
  • Administrative requests
  • Internal process management

often required significant manual effort and coordination across departments.

The university wanted a system that could streamline these operations while providing better visibility, accountability, and efficiency.

The Solution

The project focused on creating a digital platform that centralized administrative workflows and enabled staff to manage processes electronically.

Key areas included:

  • Digital document management
  • Workflow automation
  • Approval processes
  • Administrative task tracking
  • Process visibility and reporting

The platform helped reduce dependency on paper-based operations while improving the overall user experience for university staff.

Technologies Used

  • Angular
  • TypeScript
  • REST APIs
  • Enterprise Workflow Systems

Outcome

The project successfully supported the university's transition toward digital operations by replacing manual processes with structured online workflows.

More importantly, it demonstrated how thoughtful software design can improve efficiency, transparency, and user experience within educational institutions.

My Role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, I was responsible for: * Designing and implementing Angular-based solutions. * Translating business requirements into user-friendly workflows. * Building reusable frontend components. * Collaborating with stakeholders to understand operational challenges. * Supporting architectural decisions for the application. My focus was on creating intuitive user experiences that simplified complex administrative processes.
